  62. I was thinking of getting a Kenwood TS-50  (the tiny HF rig).
  63. Its main appeal for me is that it's small, and I can have
  64. someone bring (smuggle) it to me here in Israel rather easily.

  66. Are there any good reasons NOT to get this rig?  Is there anything
  67. it doesn't do?  Does it have any nasty habits?  I have the QST review,
  68. and the only bad points I remember are that it doesn't have VOX
  69. (big deal) and it has a bit of filter blow-thru.

  71. Oh, will it work OK for RTTY/Pactor, etc.?

  114.   There are several companies that make what is commonly refered to as
  115.   "disguise" antennas.These are made to take the place of the regular
  116.    broadcast antenna,and when combined with a coupler,will also function
  117.    as a broadcast antenna.One of the companies is Antenna Specialist Co.
  118.    at 216-349-8400.Another,which I would reccommend,is STI-CO Industries
  119.    at 716-662-2680.Both of these companies will sell direct or send you
  120.    to a local distributor.One additional piece of info is that Barker
  121.    -Williamson use to make a tuner for your purpose.I dont know if they
  122.     are still in business.I should warn you that "disguise" antennas are
  123.    very expensive but work fairly good.I use an antenna specialist model
  124.    for 6 meters on my chevy and have had no problems.Good luck!

  137. threshold in terms of lower microvolts.

  139. Is there a practical way I can understand the differences between
  140. receivers of say 2, 1, .5, and .125 microvolts sensitivity? 
  141. Obviously the factors of power of transmitted signal, distance
  142. to source, interference, etc., all play into this.  But is there
  143. really an effective minimum sensitivity one needs for say local
  144. VHF repeater/simplex use versus "general" HF versus DX HF?
  145. How do broadcast AM, FM, TV and international SW stations compare
  146. to amateur signals in field strength and required receiver 
  147. sensitivity?
